Free and Easy

redbear

It was too much

day after dead beat day

so I told the boss I was leaving

and never coming back

sold the stuff and hit the road

on a bright sunshine day

now I’m free and easy

met a lot of folks

some just like me

others said they wish they were

but it scares them

you know- being free and easy

sleeping under the stars listening to the coyotes’ call

understanding what the Indians had

a train whistle wakes me up and says

“go on”

coffee from a 7-11

brunch from a snickers’ bar

beer in a box car

the wind whistled me a tune

sometimes I settle down and wash some plates

make a few bucks

but keep on being happy

free and easy
