down in the shadows where hobbits
and thirsty islanders thrive
a Tiki existence calls them home
where the flaming waters survive
dark and humble a wind cools
the mind and feeds the soul
Tonga booths fill up as the
faithful sip from fiery bowls
old fashioned Jukebox and flowery
shirts wave as the lights turn low
Ian smiles and nods to all the pilgrims
as he shakes the potions so slow
Liz beats a happiness drum while she
pours medicine from the gods
rush hour is over and they enter
squad after glorious squad
funky and olden from a long
Pacific watery past
friendly and warms the spirits and
comfort bridges the past
beach lords and lasses share
secrets and make nice
the drinks are delicious filled
with coconuts and ice
elixirs with juice and unknown drops
from a mountain top range
warming the belly so the mind can
tune into magnificent change
Tonga existence Tonga delight
brings joy to the gut
four is the time and Tonga is the hut
